How did the Marshall Plan contribute to the policy of containment?

It was first initiated as a retalitation to soviet russia's communism. The issue was that the us feared the spread of communism into other contries. The US wanted to spread democracy, thus the containment. They created a series of things such as NATO, the berlin airlift, and the Marshall Plan. The Marshell plan was Americas idea of stopping the spread of the communist threat. It was planned taht the US ist other countries and to rebuild Europe after WWII. The ist that the AMericans provide the Europeans will therefore pull European countries depending on the US, and into democracy. This was suppose to end communism by making peopel rely on the US.
