Do I have to repair the car if it is not totalled?

You can repair a car if its totaled, but it won't be worth anything and your safety could be at risk. Usually insurance agents will give you the kbb price and if you have a difference that you borrowed you have to pay it back, but if its paid off then they will just give you what its worth.
