He doesn't have the right!?

Ok, this one is interesting. This morning my mom found a flight for ME to go on to Florida for my birthday. I'm the only one going. (13) I'm going to spend it with my grandparents. So my stepdad calls us today and asked her if she had booked it and he through a hissy fit. He's being a baby about this. It isn't even his money that is being spent. I'm buying it myself. He says, "Oh this is how we reward him for missing the bus every week." I miss it like 1-2 in two weeks. Anyway all I have to do is walk around the corner to catch it again it's no big deal. He doesn't have a right to be mad! Do you think so?
