If i skip a rock in someone's pool and it breaks a statue of marcus antony should i have to pay for it?

i always used to warn them that their water level in the damn pool was too high but they tell me i'm not a meteorologist and that it doesn't matter what i warn because i'm not nostradamus. well, maybe i am since i threw the rock and it did too giant leaps on the water like a mosquito on a sufrboard and smashed right through this four foot statue they said they just ordered from some foreign place. how do i tell them that these things happen and that statues that big don't belong out by their theiving neighbor anyway?
