Has anybody been to historical world war II places or researched WWII?

I'm fascinated with world war 2, I'm 19 and currently studying economics at University but this piece of history I find so fascinating and interesting, some day I want to visit world war II places from both the allied side and the other side. One of my main places of interest is Auschwitz in Poland. I live in London UK.
