Do you know of any sports issues/controversies?

The NBA is trying to keep kids who shouldn't be making basketball the sole focus of their lives from doing so- that's why they have the age restrictions they do. A lot of people may think they have the talent to be pro basketball players, but the reality is that few do. It's not fair to these kids for them to get their hearts set on an NBA career, only to find themselves out on the street after the first round of the draft. That happens more than one might think. By forcing kids to wait until they've had a few years of college before they turn pro, the NBA is actually doing them a HUGE favor and making them gain the skills they need to make a living and survive outside the basketball court. It's helping to ensure that these kids DON'T end up on welfare or in jail before they are even 25 years old, and that's a good thing.
